Question about Redfield Morgan's...

I just acquired some, I should say, stole some, Redfield Morgans. All are fairly common dates but all have very nice rim toning from the holder. What are people paying for these? They all say MS65 but most are more like MS64-65.

They all carry a pretty nice premium on Ebay. Do a search for completed auctions on Ebays and you should get a pretty good idea of the prices.

Based on your comment, it appears you ripped someone off on purpose. Seems rather less than honest, but as long as you sleep well at night, then good for you. I would not be a buyer of them from you.

  • I didnt rip anyone off. I went to a coin shop and there were 5 Redfields. I asked the dealer how much. This is a dealer who has been in business over 30 years so he says. He then went and got his grey sheet and quoted me $50 for 3 of them and $60 for the other two. I paid the man his offer and left. Did I do something wrong? Its not my fault this dealer dosnt know what he's doing. Nor is it my responsibility to tell him sold them so cheap. He did look at the grey sheet fir pricing. I simply made a very wise cherry pick. If a dealer allows himself to make a $1000 mistake, he's in the wrong business.

Do they say Redfield on the holder or Paramount?

You seem pretty sure that he made a mistake......You haven't sold them yet

I predict you break even or make less than $100

  • Paid $300 for all five. Just sold all 5 for $1,100. You do the math on my profit. Who made the mistake?

Go back and ask him if he has any "Nixon" dollars in those big black holders . . . . . . image

this is a situation where a collector profits from a dealer and it is OK but if the roles were reversed we all know what the response would be.

on the positive side of things I think it is good that when the new guy was informed that he was at the wrong forum he went to the BST and an established member also did the right thing and contacted him off that thread to complete the transaction.
