So, after selling a coin on ebay, how often do you go to Zillow to see if it's a house or a vacant l

Not out of any kind of suspicion, though. Just curiosity
Never thought of doing it with eBay customers, but now I might!
(Again, more out of curiosity than suspicion.)

On the low or high side??
it depends upon the sale.
it also helps that many municipalities have searchable property tax databases.
it means much considering quite a few mansion dewellers go to jail too.
Had someone try to buy a $15,000 coin off my website. too many digits in the phone number and a little bit of a funky address. Obviously they did not get the coin.

Some extravagant old folks have lots of $ and have no idea how to use a computer. I wouldn't stop a sale based on a weird suspicion if I was in the business of selling stuff.

With all of the fraud currently being reported by sellers in jewelry and coins on feepay, I've decided to stop selling on there. No need for anyone to put themselves into that kind of risk. They've chased away a ton of good sellers in the last few months. I'm off to greener pastures. Hopefully, feepay will see the error of their ways.

Selling stuff is great; getting stiffed for 10 grand isn't. Weird suspicion is often your best defense against the latter. Certainly 2 minutes of online checking to validate that the customer's name and address are legit is time well spent.

<< <i>I got ripped-off on feepay for a few grand about 10 years ago to a mail-drop address in California. Had to pay a lawyer to get the $$$ back. I've had so many scams trying to be pulled on there that I can almost smell the problems before they happen.

Are mail drop addresses usually verified by PP or eBay?

Do you report addresses to eBay that you have bad vibes about? Does anyone else report them?

Greener pastures? Good luck with that. When you locate Utopia, please let us know. There is risk in every aspect of your life, with eBay being no exception. Learn to be "street smart" by limiting your risk via common sense.
BTW, I've been selling and buying on eBay for almost 15 years, w/o ever having a "fraud or ripped of" related loss. Abide by eBay's and PayPal's rules and parameters, and chances are excellent, that you come out ok. For the most part, the "loudest" eBay bashers, have only themselves to blame for their misfortune by making simple or basic mistakes. Controls and learning tools are in place that reduce potential rip-offs...take advantage of them. That's my take.
BTW hope you made a profit on the Sacagawea.
<< <i>Never. But I do send a decoy first. If they notify ebay or me, that they didn't get what they ordered , I know they're legitimate. >>

<< <i>Never thought of it but they missed mine by $170k on the low side. >>
There are ways to get the price change too , on sites like Zillow, Redfin, etc... I go to my
x-bosses' house and drop the price a few hundred K, just for kicks.

My CC company notified me of some fraudulent charges and when I looked at the delivery address on Zillow it was an amazing house - that was on the rental market for $20,000 a month
