On this very thin planchet copper token is this a old rim issue which was strategically placed or damaged by the slab crew when squeezed into the prong

Weird. I would hope that's just a coincidental placement whereby a pre-existing flaw just happened to be "perfectly" positioned beneath the prong?

Looks old and dirty, not fresh - so I vote strategic or coincidental placement also, not new damage.

I looked at the large images on that one for an hour as I was going to bid on it.
I'm pretty sure its not new.
