I really like the way these float without seeing the cert numbers...

My Washington Type B/C Set
I resize all my images posted here to a 1150 width as it fills the whole thread box.
But yeh having a coin by itself using a PNG file (transparent backgrounds) is nice especially for later, gives you many more options.
in Photoshop I save all my coin images with transparent backgrounds so later if I want to matte the coin on any other background it's very easy.
I always liked it though, nicely done!
png and transparency is nice but comes at the cost of size in kb/mb and thusly bandwidth.
i would recommend using them sparingly; especially since visitors to pages generally have no idea what will load until it is done more or less.
to further my point; out of the last 5,000+ images i've posted/sent via various methods, 0% have been png, bmp or tiff.
i have used a few gifs for animation but only a handful.
