Why coin dealers drink--Part CCCCXXX

From the dealer-to-dealer network:
"Got a return/defect today on ebay. Customer bought a pile of 1976 unc
bicentennial sets from us returned them because they are not "DCAM." Ebay
refuses to remove defect because we should have put it in the listing that
these are not Proof Coins. Lol. Word of advice make sure you put in all
your listings what your coin is not! This coin is not a 1967 Ford Mustang,
This coin is not an iphone, This coin is not a wrist watch etc. etc."

Yeah ... and he did so for good reason! Nothing like ordering and early copper catalog for a couple dozen dollars and assuming all the coins are included!

True. I might also argue (with nothing more than a gut feeling really) that folks are less aware of their intellectual limitations.

As I have stated elsewhere, I use medieval dating style.

The problem is that the dummies vote.

Using this event as an example of the "dumbing down of America," is ironical in that it demonstrates even more pressing evidence of the dumbing down of America.

Many years ago I listed an Indian cent variety attribution book on eBay in both the book section and in the Indian cent section. I had photographs of the cover and inside of the book, listed the title, the author, how many pages, etc. It sold for about $15. Shortly after the buyer received it, he left me negative feedback because he was upset that the book wasn't a coin - that's the last time I have ever listed anything on eBay!

When did the subtractive style of Roman dating actually begin?
