2 Bearded Goddess Selling Cheap in Hertage LB Sale

It's unusual to see a single O-111b Bearded Goddess Bust half in an auction, today heritage has 2. I like the NGC VF20, nice problem free coin. The ANACS AU details is nice also, but I prefer the problem free coin. I already have one so I won't be bidding. These are not my coins, they are just unusual to Find.

Sorry I don't know how to do these as links

I'll never understand why die cracks garnish such a big premium on certain series (especially Morgans) simply because they're given a cool nickname..."bearded goddess," "scarface,"etc. And then we ridicule the speared bison, wounded eagle, prisoner cent, as modern crap ad nauseum.
They're all die anomalies, some are just 200 years old

i agree that some are not equal to others but putting an h10 scarface and any modern coin in the same group is just blasphemous! image

A major die crack will often result in the premature end of the life of a die. On early US coins (and VAMs) where every die pair has its own variety designation, those with major die breaks are often rare because that die didn't strike as many pieces.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

The reverse scratches on the AU specimen call to mind adjustment marks. But we know that's not the case. If they are the result of the cleaning, that is a pity.

    The VF20 looks very nice.

Looks pretty much like one I had years ago in an Anacs holder. Not a late state Bearded lady, but certainly a nice one. I could search it as I got it in the Anacs holder same grade from Heritage way way back. It's a very nice coin. Congratulations.

Pay more attention to the large slab images than glamor shots. You'll see evidence of harsh cleaning of both sides of the ANACS coin. A pity on any coin. A cryin' shame on an AU Bearded Goddess.

The only ANACS VF20 I could find was from Aug 1996. Unfortunately there are no images of it. Does $577 sound right?

I was a member here when I got it. I have images on one of my old laptops. Might take me a while but I'll try and check. I believe I paid around 1500.00 for it on a Internet only action. Pretty sure it's the same coin.
