"I would give you twenty for it right now"

Think if I wait a little longer I can talk him down to $15?

I HAD A PCGS 1913 TYPE ONE BUFFALO NICKEL IN MATTE PROOF-63 CERTIFIED BY YOUR HOST. IT HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN IN AN NGC PROOF-64 HOLDER AND THE PREVIOUS OWNER JUST HAD TO HAVE IT IN A PCGS HOLDER AND WAS WILLING TO ACCEPT A ONE POINT DOWN GRADE TO GET IT CROSSED. IN MY AUCTION I EXPLAINED THAT THIS WAS A HIGH END PIECE AND SHOULD EVENTUALLY WIND UP IN A 64 HOLDER. I HAD THE COIN PRICED MID WAY BETWEEN THE 63 AND 64 GRADE AND I GET A NUMBER OF REQUESTS FOR ME TO LOWER MY PRICE SUBSTANTIALLY AND END THE AUCTION. I JUST LAUGHED. A COIN OF THIS RARITY DOES NOT GO HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS BELOW RETAIL BUT THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO KEEP TRAWLING FOR LOW PRICES. AND THEY GET A BIT HUFFY WHEN YOU NICELY TEL THEM WHERE TO GO OR WHERE TO STICK IT!!

lay off the all caps and do try and understand just cause you think a coin is worth a lot doesn't mean anyone else will see it as such

now bargain shoppers are a good thing in retail as they come back again and again spreading the word about the person or biz which they got the deal from

as for griping that is just human nature to gripe about things
