Well after my 1857o Half came back graded I decided to try and put together a 57-O year set.

This will be my first addition. any ideas what our host will grade it. im going to have the dirty removed properly in hope of a MS grade

Looks like a slider to me. I'll guess AU58.

I only wonder because the minimal patina is so uniform (minus the dirt)

Those pics look EternityCoin-esque, so I'll guess AU-Details. image

The only thing I would do if the coin were mine is rinse in acetone to possibly remove the dark stuff. But that's it.The dark stuff doesn't bother me but I can see where it would bother other collectors. No rubbing.

Can't really say anything about hairlines from the images which aren't too bad,by the way.Hairlines,or absence of hairlines, will tell the grader much.Coin does appear to have circulated a bit,so won't get MS grade, dirt or no dirt.

Coin grade AU58.Looks pretty much like it should look.Light golden toning...Appears like it might be original to me...

I will go with AU-55. I see what appears to be rub on the thigh and hair.

    solid AU

I tend to think it could genuine though. The concern is the area on the right under the cap and side of the arm across to the stars. I doubt its clashing it sure has the appearance of some old repair or other disturbance , images are subjective of course.

The mark under the cap looks like a scrape,an old scrape,to me.The area under the cap does look busy like could have been worked on at one time.Maybe AU details is the grade it gets at the service.

Dip it and you lose. It's beautiful as is.
