A buck above melt for these. Pretty sure they're then new Sunshine Mint reproductions of which I am not a fan. But I had $$ in my pocket and because a buck.

Baley---Tell us about that neat sword. Is it original or a reproduction? Looks like it's from the middle ages.

Perry, it's a modern sword made by Windlass Steelcrafts, similar in medieval design to this great ouse river sword

Baley---That's a really neat sword. You should definitely wear it to the next coin show.

Well, that's the most commentary I've gotten over a Metal Porn post! This is a real sword, sturdy, well-balanced and very sharp. I'm sure most of us have knives and guns, but this is something I've always wanted. One can find a lot of cheap reproduction and movie prop swords online, with elvish runes and fake jewels, etc, you can buy an "Excalibur" or Gandalf's sword, but this seems a lot cooler to me, may start a small collection of historic repros that include a roman style, a rapier, cavalry sword, etc..

Anyway, here's one of the gold coins, far less impressive at the size of my pinkie fingernail, this is the 1849 open wreath dollar with "small head" (actually, the stars are just closer to the rim) and this one has the L for Longacre barely detectable at the truncation of the neck, also several stars double-punched or engraved, notably the one at 5 o'clock. Contains Gold Rush Gold!

    image

Premium over "melt" paid, but this fills another spot in the US type and subtype set. The other gold coin will arrive today, and it's even smaller than this one..
