If the OP of this thread was really making that much easy money, he would have his own buying post here instead of crapping on the others. But of course he is not. The reality is that the OP sold for that price in an eBay presale and must also pay eBay/PayPal fees. The OP is also subject to the rules of eBay/PayPal now and if the buyer of his listing decides to return in a week or two, they will be able to do so with no trouble. Not quite the same as the clean offers being made here on the BST where there is zero risk to the sellers.
I think I lost around $15,000 - $20,000 late last year on the "sure thing" of buying Proof Gold Kennedy coins.
I am buying 2014 gold baseball coins right now at around 60% below the peak prices they were selling for in the first month (and closer to 80% off on some of the FS coins)! And, these were HOT coins.
1997-P SMS Nickels have a mintage of just 25,000 (1/3 the dimes mintage here) and 18 years later are about $100 - $110/coin raw! If money doubles about every 9 years, that would make the 1997 nickels with a 25,000 mintage about a $25 coin (present value 18 years ago).
If the 2 dimes with 75,000 mintage (3x the nickel!) are worth $50/coin 18 years from now, that would make them (present value today) $12.50 coins today and the sets worth about $45 - $50 each (or all 5 sets worth around $250). And, that assumes "demand" for Roosie dimes equals demand for Jeff nickels.
And, then there is the hype and speculation ...
As always, just my 2 cents.

For too long, some dealers pleading not able to afford to pay the going market buy prices , low balled board members with low buy prices on hot Mint products Even a national dealer that sold 2011 25th Anniv sets for $1500-2500 , bought sets here on BST for low prices Best for info be open to let forum members benefit some good prices on Mint products
Ebay prices now up to $125.00 a set . My coin club paid more than price in thread post headline Best Wishes keep more of money in your own pocket.
If you ask me the odds that a Roosie dime will have a sub-75,000 mintage sometime in the next 18 years, I would have to say the chances were better than 50-50 in my opinion.

I would buy every set offered on this board but saving my $$$ for some big buy's and don't want to buy any more right now but some very good prices.... Buy buy buy Hahaha.
Cost 315, 68 ebay/PayPal fees 15 shipping, net is 441.00. with sale at 525. Now that is non store and no discounts. So as I said by my math...but if you use a different calculator and think 25 makes it that's fine.
Again, depends on how you calculate and I'm not including store rates, or 20% discounts or any other coupon the heavy duty coin seller may have.
Here's the numbers non store rates: Cost is $315. Buy it now at $525.00 and Ebay fees are $52.50, paypal fees are $15.53, figuring shipping to buyer at $15.00, net proceeds is $441.
Now of course if you guys throw in coupons, store seller rates and a 20% fvf refund it would be more.
Using a $525 sales level, one would pay about $43 in fees and perhaps another $17 in shipping for a net level of $465. Just as Mark stated.
This assumes a perfect transaction. Obviously, the buyer can change his mind 2 weeks from now and cancel the deal. In fact, if I am not mistaken, the buyer can move to cancel the deal months from now (if using a credit card) and likely wins under a number of scenarios. And, if the buyer says his sealed box only had 2- sets shipped in it when he opens it, I am not sure it is his problem to fight the mint. For these and many other reasons, I have only sold a handful of sealed boxes on ebay in my 18 years there! This is not to say Mark will not have a perfect deal.
As always, just my two cents.

my calculations (with a basic ebay store account) on $525.00 PayPal fees @ 3% = $15.75 eBay FVF (6%) = $31.50 s&h USPS Medium Size Flate Rate Box with Sig. Confirmation $13.65
less 20% refund of FVF -$6.30
Net fees + postage = $54.60
Net ......$525 -$54.60 = $470.40
"Bongo drive 1984 Lincoln that looks like old coin dug from ground."
Okay, the guy already wants to return the 5 sets from flea bay due to the heavy price drop and purported low quality (not his excuse of course). I am hereby officially laughed at. This is a one time free pass to fry me on this post. It'll fit well with the ebay negative i'll be getting as well. I HATE THIS #@!$ NEED TO RETIRE!!!

No need to worry 18 years from now .. just don't sell too cheap
If someone was shut out from ordering today from Mint some of those old $105.00 Ebay listings look attractive
Hoard the keys.

Fed + Cal + self employment schedule C 15% is about 60% or greater. So that $165 big eBay profit becomes about $50.
We assume OP has determined his tax liability.
PayPal fees @ 3% = $15.75

And, of course, there is no telling if you are even getting back your same sets!! Unless he did not open them up??
In any event, why in about 18 years on ebay I have sold just a handful of sealed boxes of anything!
Thanks for the update though and being good spirited about eating some crow for dinner tonight not McDonald's!!!
