Got some grades ATS

Had one laying around for years, and recently picked up another.

Would love it if PCGS would do these, but since they do not appear to, they went ATS.

How would one conclude an elongated coin is MS63?

I can only assume they use the same criteria as for coins, but with the acknowledged fact that it is elongated....Cheers, RickO

They probably have a flat MS63 grade for any coin they deem was uncirculated at the time it was flattened. At least, that's the only thing that makes sense to me.

Had a few elongated coins graded at NGC for a customer recently. Got grades as high as MS66BN on them.

These are Liberty Nickels. Did not recall the dates. Missed out on a 1890 earlier this week. Maybe I should try to do a date set (up to 1893 of course).

Wonder if any are 1885/1886?

This reminded me of a couple that I have laying around. 1893 Barber dime and 1904 Indian head.

One that I just got back recently was an E-372 Columbian Expo rolled nickel... an 1883 No Cents that graded MS64, so they do certainly grade these somehow and not all are MS63.
