Anyone year Los Angeles? Sounds like a good upcoming opportunity!

First off, I'm about as far away from LA as one can be in the U.S. - probably 3,000 miles, so no idea on metal detecting regulations, but just saw this article:
Los Angeles to Fix Side Walks
I'd imagine that could be some pretty good detecting if you can find out which areas are being maintained. Metal detecting opportunities for the next 30 years!

Aaargh! This only reminds me that I'm missing out on a potentially rewarding sidewalk demo in a Victorian neighborhood right now, because my 'tectors are out of commission.
Here in Las Vegas the sidewalks belong to the homeowner/business and it's their responsibility for repairs.
I just had 2 sections replace in my front yard and the city did it, but sent me the bill. $250 which I thought
was quite a bargain. Had two 6 foot sections replaced.
Maybe LA could just turn them over to the residents/businesses.
Or chop all those lovely trees down that are causing the problems and eliminate all those lovely little grass
strips between the sidewalk and street. LA was a desert (part of the Mojave) before they decided to try to
turn it into a Eden.
