There are specific diagnostics, but from those photos I can't even verify the date. Do you have anything larger?

Your pics are too small to tell. Just make sure you take a close look at the mintmark area to be certain an S hasn't been removed.

Well, it does look like a Peace dollar...when viewed on the floor.

That photo is a red flag. I'd only do a deal on approval.

Sorry as stated the images are bad, I put them in a photo editor and could not do anything with them.

I think this seller has provided the pictures he wanted the potential buyer to see. Case closed.

If that weight is accurate I'd say it's an overweight fake. 26.73 plus or minus .1 grams does not get to
    this weight.

    bob

PS: I gave away a fake Morgan with the same weight yesterday....did not take a pic. But it was a made from
cast dies and was overweight and too thick as well. I suspect it was copper with silver plating and was an 1886-O.

The 8 looks awfully funny to me. I really do not like the way it way more pronounced than the other numerals and the dark areas surrounding it and not the other numbers.

The 8 stands out just like teddy's link says it does on a counterfeit.

this is one coin that deals almost always end up being steals...steals not in the way buyers hoped they would be

the difference in price is well worth coughing up for the real thing certified

offer the seller to buy it after this coin is sent in...that should be a respectable agreement

hopefully if proven it's an altered date or removed mintmark
this coin gets destroyed, melted or used for a ring or something

    inherent responsibility comes into play
crap like this needs end upon it being discovered

Do I see some disturbance at the mintmark area?
