  • Does look cool, but wish there was more diversity. Last I checked, it was very football heavy with a bit of baseball. Few others.

I probably only go on Sunday.
  • How is this show?
Is it worth the 3 hour round trip?

Vintage, modern, unopened? Is it big?

I live in SW Virginia and its a little longer trip for me than you. I have been three times to Chantilly July 2009, July 2011 and July 2013. I thought the shows were above average. I have never been in April but they usually have atleast 50 dealers in July so I am guessing there might be 60 or more dealers at this show.

Lots of vintage, some unopended (newer).
Work hard and you will succeed!!

It's a nice show, but I've only been to a few small 10/12-table shows in VA. If I recall right, there are several tables of unopened. Mostly modern, but they had some mid-1980s stuff. Some vintage dealers. One guy does vintage singles for sets. A table of random stuff that a lot of people hang out at and sort through. All-in-all a good show. I wonder if they have a list of dealers. I think a lot of folks will be at this show for the autographs as there is a good selection. Hopefully that will draw in more dealers as well.

Good show. There should be a list of dealers on the web site. Unless you are looking for quality vintage wax, you should enjoy it.

May make the drive down Sunday...may be on the other side of the table in July.

    edited for dealer list

I found it to be okay, at best, today. I think the Boston based show skimmed off some of the bigger dealers that usually set up.

  • Went to the show today. Was there about 5 hours. I thought it was a nice show.

My pick ups from the show.

    1930 W554 Babe Ruth SGC A
    1931 W517 Babe Ruth PSA 2.5

    1921 American Caramel E121 W.L. Gardner SGC 70(5.5)

2007-08 Bowman Chrome Kevin Durant BGS 9

Lot of new card dealers. Old vintage was priced very high. I got the two Ruth's from a very nice dealer at a very fair price. I got him down an extra $170 from his asking price. Was very surprised he sold them to me for the price he did. Gardner I got for a steal. The Durant was something I got from a buddy who owed me some money.

Saw Ikki Woods had a table set up selling some autograph pictures for charity.

I thought it was a good show and about on par for what it usually is. Not much vintage unopened, a fair amount of modern and some good tables to rummage through. Was there about and hour and got a few cards closer to my 1951 Bowman set.
  • Anybody have any cool stories? I would have dug meeting Ickey Woods.
