Newp: 1925 Peace Dollar-opinion on grade?

NumisOxideNumisOxide Posts: 10,997 ✭✭✭✭✭
I picked this one up last week in Watertown,NY while on vacation with my girlfriend. I don't really collect these but this one had booming luster and clear fields. The cheek has a bag mark but the reverse is spotless. Paid $45. Worth sending in or just enjoy raw?

MS64, too much chatter on the cheek for a better grade IMO

MS64 but is that a huge scratch on the reverse eagle?

I'd say 64 as well. Nice coin.

Nice looking coin. Nice & lustrous looking. I'd say MS64. The toning stripe through the reverse is slightly distracting. Old tape?

Too bad about the stuff on her face.

    Very pretty coin!
I'm in the 64 crew on this one. The little hits on the cheek and nose would likely keep it to a 64- at least through our hosts standards- which are very tough on this series.
Common date here. If it had a mint mark.... Then it would be well worth submitting!
I'd enjoy this one in the raw, Dansco perhaps.image

MS 64. Nice for a raw coin find, but not worth the grading fee at current price levels.

Pretty dollar. I always buy these already graded by PCGS.

Thanks everyone! I agree with you all, would probably grade MS64. I'll just put her in an air-tite or intercept- shield type holder.image

MS63 (too many cheek hits to go higher)

63 and as sad as it is, you can buy them in 64 holders for around 50 bucks if you watch on ebay.

With the evident great luster showing I'm at 64+.

I think MS64 but the greater question is why would you vacation in Watertown in February? image

It certainly is pretty!!!! Great pick up for the price you paid. Not my series so no help with the grade.image

    64 sounds about right

    awesome example

  • MS63. In my opinion the cost involved in grading will cancel out the increased value. I would keep it as it is. There is something about actually holding a silver dollar in your hand.
