Great find DD.....dry creek beds can sure produce some interesting items....if in gold country, check the inside bends of creek turns... that is where the nuggets drop....Cheers, RickO
CA is in the middle of an awful drought. Lots of rivers and streams are way below what they normally are. It's a great time to hit swimming holes and lake beds in gold country. The only problem is the swimming hole near my house got so low it filled up with green algae. Not fun to detect in at all.

Is the green algae mushy? As in still wet? Streams I have seen, when dried, usually have the algae just peeling off rocks... did not get in the way. Cheers, RickO
