US Treasury Silver Certificate redeemtion Paks from the 60's

OldEastsideOldEastside Posts: 4,602 ✭✭✭✭✭
Any idea how many of these silver paks were made and redeemed in the 60's
and are they worth more if original than the bullion value and if any one has any.?

I was just thinking about those little packs today and I have not seen any lately
Most B&M's had tons of them back in the day.

Thanks

Steve

    Do you have a pic?

Do not recall those items.....I was in the Navy then, but still interested in coins... Cheers, RickO

I think I remember silver granules in little packs....those what you mean?

If so, I do them them occasionally up on ebay....one at a time. No hoards of them or
    quantities of any sort.

As those plastic bags age and get brittle what are the chances that they might split open and drop those silver granules all over the place?

  • I know what you're talking about Steve...

I remember a pic in a coin magazine from the 1970's showing what these looked like, but I've never seen them in person.
