Nickel and Quarter Help

I have this 1984 quarter I got 2 years ago it seemed thin. Now has stated to corrode n rust. any ideas looks like missing clad based on so thin.

The nickel I had for some time but it has a bluish hue like a satin glaze on it

thanks in advance

Quarter was likely dunked in acid....my guess.

Nickels do get a blueish hue on proof coins and yours does look like a proof from
    my vantage point.

someone probably put the quarter in some coca-cola to clean it and left it in too long is all

    the nickel
1960 to 1964 produced some colorful toned proof nickels....yours included although your imaging mutes it's color
everything in life is but merely on loan to us by our appreciation....lose your appreciation and see

I think that quarter is 'terminal'.....not sure it can be saved, and not really worth the effort....likely acid dunked - I have no idea why anyone would do it though. Cheers, RickO
