    kinda tuff
    vf20 obv...f15 rev...i'll go with vf20
is this a coin known for weak rev strike?

might not even grade due to old cleaning and possible rev issue at 10 pm by rim

Yes, the left wing is rarely fully-struck on this overdate.

    Tough one. 30?

F15. The reverse is just not good enough to justify a VF level grade.

    VF-20

The level of detail (late die state issue) will bring out the F guesses (and possibly what it could grade on a bad day at pcgs...image)
But we all know it's a VF, looking at the rims and the surfaces, probably 30 image
  • Am thinking 30 myself. I don't see it any lower than that though.

My first impression was 25, so I'll stick there, even though it's likely higher.

I'm in the 30 camp. Nice example of a messed-up die marriage - lots of character.

I'm in the 30 camp. Pretty nice too. Perhaps a long ago bath but doesn't appear to have had suffered anything particularly untoward.

Gotta love the die clashes in this marriage. My guess is PCGS 30.

Brian, how about you put up your 1814/3 #1 along with your 1814/3 #2, obverse aside obverse, and same with the reverses?

I don't have any similarly graded 1814/3s to show, or I would.

Nice job Brian. Now viewers have it all right up front. Wonder if the grade guesses will trend differently.

Here's a VF 30 ( CAC ) for comparison....sorry about the so-so pics, does make it hard to realy compare, but you can side by side these if you want image

I'm not too good grading busties below XF but I'll go VF25 on this as others have posted some for comparison.

Jaypenn's is very nice. Earlier die state and flirts with 35, IMO.

Jaypem, your coin looks great for 30. I'd call it XF with a weak strike. image

Well, as long as we're sharing other like types, here's a PCGS 30, VLDS.

I was thinking but reverse made me change my mind to 25 obverse and 15 reverse if it grades normally.
