Old PCI slabs of Israeli and French coins

I posted this on the world forum, but I know there are some slab experts over here. When do you think these were slabbed and what is the consensus on the grades on the slabs (in general, not on these particular coins, but the grading equivalence to the market).

Early 1990's, but I suspect the slab is worth more than the coins enclosed.

I own and have owned some of these slabs. Accurately graded but sometimes miss a light cleaning or scratch/damage. All in all, very close to current PCGS standards from my own personal experience.

I was one of the first PCI authorized dealers and bought the slabs sight unseen. This appears to be PCI 3, which was used in 1988 and 1989. The coins I have seen, and submitted, in these slabs were usually 1 point undergraded. Whenever I was at shows, I would look for these PCI slabs and made a lot of upgrades. PCI, at this time was owned by Louis Revels and I have never seen this slab with a cleaned or scratched coin in one.

My first thought when I looked at these was under graded, so I am happy there may be some fact behind that and not my opinion.

The coins in slabs of that type were conservatively graded.

Neat slabs. Usually the coins are graded accurately or even conservatively for today's market.

I pick up a Morgan DMPL for cheap broke it out had it regraded and got a plus grade over the grade that it had on it. I also have a few others that haven't been regraded and I think those are pretty accurate. I also picked up some foreign coins like you but have no desire to have those regraded, there just not worth the price of the silver. JMO

Per Conder's book, PCI *2* [3 lines, no grade on photo] - 1986-1988.

As a check, PCI3 will have the certification # on the reverse and only 2 lines of text [top and bottom, the middle line is blank].

    Very Nice Early PCI Slabs!
I like the coments for when they were made and the type.
WWW.Sampleslabs.com shows PCI but only two types.
I have a couple of them and always look for them.

I own one, IMHO it is defiantly under graded.
