1913 type 1 buffalo nickel newp....

crazyhounddogcrazyhounddog Posts: 13,986 ✭✭✭✭✭
Here's one I found raw with BOOMING luster and a cobalt blue hue, a very bright Buff . I couldn't resist seeing how I love type 1's so much and this one is over the top, at least I think it is. Just take a look at those rims! Good enough to show off. Thoughts? such as to the grade?? I know what I think it is, how bout you??? I'll be sending this one off with a few others to pcgs for grading and I'll share the results.
Thanks for looking and happy hunting, Joe

I'm going to say MS65. Color is nice, luster is nice, strike is so so.

That's a beauty of a Buff!! Not my series (not really sure WHAT my new series will be, but I'm bailing out of my Washies, ALL of 'em, varieties and non-varieties), but I'm inclined to say 66. The toning is really attractive (I'm not a fan of toners, but that one draws me in), and as kookoox10 brought up, I dig that clash!
    I'll come up with something.

Thanks, It's interesting that when the "E Pluribus Unum" looks like that on the reverse you'd expect the see some clashing under the chin of the Indian referred to as the "Whisker" variety. But I sure see any evidence of that on this one, strange.
If I had to guess a grade I could go 66 with a clear conscious. But more than likely it'll go 65-65+ .

Thanks again for the nice complements, much appreciated, Joe

It's taken me a while to appreciate how much more artistic and beautiful the T1 is compared to the T2.

    Beautiful coin! image

BTW, after you get it certified, send it to MACge for a "full split tail" designation. image
