Clean cheek, a few big luster grazes, perhaps subdued luster, or could be the pic. Assuming some luster is there, 65+

    The luster is somewhat lacking.

    64 crowd for me.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    63-

Nice coin- I see the fields limiting the upside as well as the general flat appearance of the coin.

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.

  • These issues come lackluster. Look at Bluesheet on NGC vs. PCGS in MS65 vs. Greysheet, huge differentials. 64/64+.

The luster is better than what shows in the picture.

Luster and strike on these is usually marginal with luster being downright detrimental. This one seems acceptable or better. The cheek and neck suggest MS 65. I'm guessing MS 64.8.

    63. Maybe I'm too strict but would not call that a "clean cheek". Reverse very nice and again apparently luster lacking with a dipped look to these eyes...

Pretty clean fields, moderate to light luster, few minor face/cheek hits.
I'm in the 63+ camp. Nice coin!

I like this one as a 64+ but looks like a very clean coin I would enjoy owning.

Cheek isn't clean enough for 65, and luster is below average, so 63.
  • HighReliefHighRelief Posts: 3,675 ✭✭✭✭✭
    I would call it a 63

depending how bad the graders eyes catch that 12 o clock reverse rim
    this could be a 62

    but i'd say it's a 63

Nice Morgan...I'll guess ms64 if the luster is there, but I can't say too much about luster being anything with this date/mm...as here is my piece image

Luster is a probem for this date. I'd say MS64.

    64. Too many ticks for a 5. The luster doesn't bother me.

These are really quick (and terrible) images. But, they get the job done.

MS-64, mostly because of weak luster. If this coin were a bit brighter it would have a shot at MS-65.

  • Have the two major grading services graded coins comparable to this one MS65? Yes, just check out 40 or so auction listings. But results often reflect aesthetic appeal.

    YMMV/FWIW

    64. This date can often be found at that grade with clean surfaces but with a washed out look and indifferent luster like this coin. Yours looks a bit gray in the photo as well.
