It's not a Long Nock and it does not appear to be any of the high S doubled RIB's (VAM 22, 77, 111).
What else could it be? Two guys building a set of polished 78-S dollars just had to own this one?

I would not be surprised to learn that it is a scarce '79-S Rev. of 1878 VAM. At least two bidders had to have recognized it as such for it to reach the price it realized.
