Got there at 9:00 and waited until 10:00 to get in to find that about 1/3 of the dealer's had already left. I'm thinking oh boy this is going to be a bust. So I started walking the table's not seeing anything of interest. Some tables don't even warrant a stop. Then about a 1/3 of the way through the bourse I start to pass a table because it looks like a pawn shop under glass. Watches, bill's, rings and what not. But a slab caught my eye and I backed up......looked closer and saw that it was a 1959-D PCGS67 Dime. Now I have looked at probably over a thousand 59-D's looking for the 2 RPM's that I don't have. There are 4 RPM's this year in the CPG. The 501 which is very common....the 502 which there are 0......the 503 where there is 1 (a 65)....and the 504 which there are 7. I have the 501 and 504, but have been looking for both the 502 and 503 for a loooooooong time. So I said can I look at the 59-D dime. Taking the coin from the dealer and putting the 16X to it......thinking it's going to be another disappointment..........Wha La there is the 503!!! I was in shock. I calmly asked what he would take for this......he gave a number......I said OK. Didn't find any more coins I needed, but this one little Dime was worth the trip!
You just never know where you are going to find a treasure. You probably have to be a variety collector to understand and appreciate this story, but I thought I would share with you all.
Hope I didn't bore you.
It was a GREAT day for me.

Indeed! That's why I just keep showing up, too.
<< <i>Congrats! That's what it is all about. >>
He did the hokey pokey?
I can picture you after taking a first look, not believing what you were seeing. Then having to look away, refocus and double check yourself.
