Just received an email from bigcrumbs ( I haven't used them in years) that their data base may have been compromised.

One can expect that their personal data will be swiped as the breeches are occurring on a regular basis.

Apparently you did not read the email, it specifically said their database was not breached. Someone was able to log on with email addresses and passwords obtained from a breach of a different website.

Well....you can make your own conclusion....200 compromises in less than 1 month .... As the saying goes: "If it walks like a Duck, smells like a Duck..ect"

"Last week, we discovered that some BigCrumbs member accounts were accessed by an unknown party. Confirmed unauthorized accesses number less than 200 and date back to mid-January 2015. However, the actual number may be higher.
After extensive investigation, we've found that there is no evidence that BigCrumbs was breached or hacked. Repeat: this was not a hack or breach of BigCrumbs proper. Instead, the evidence overwhelmingly suggests that the attacker used passwords obtained in previous breaches of other websites, where members had also used those same passwords with BigCrumbs. There is also some evidence that the attacker exploited the use by some members of weak or common passwords."

I just got an email from ppservice@paupal.com notifying me my PayPal account is currently limited.
But if I click on the link to yzxz.com they'll be able to take care of it quickly.

BigCrumbs has a message on their webpage with updates. Definitely not fake.
