What more could you ask for, I do love this hobby

So I pulled all my coins out tonight for the first time since 1/11/13. I know the date because that was the last time I did anything with coins. It was the FUN show and I made a couple of purchases. WOW time fly's, I actually thought it was 2014 that I was at the fun show. But I have the receipts to verify.

Here is the setting, pour me a glass of 1792 on the rocks, sat down with a loop and my coins. I felt like a king, it truly is a feeling that only we know. My with walked in thought I was a little crazy. I had here sit down and showed her why it was relaxing way to spend a couple of hours. Well it only lasted a few moments for her, she didn't want to miss the real housewives from someplace on tv. All the best, I had a table full of busties just waiting for me.

Gary

Unfortunately, the oldest coin I have is 1805, so I couldn't match the 1792, but it just felt like the right drink to pour for this moment.

Every now and then I bring all my coins home from the safe box, set them up in my coin cabinet, clear my schedule, pour some scotch, and enjoy the hobby of kings.

1792 is an excellent tonic for studying your coins. Not so much for bidding on coins in auctions though!

I try to bring my collection out at least once a quarter to add new purchases and upgrades, and pull the coins that were upgraded to have them available for sale or trade.

I'm having a W.L. Weller on the rocks with a splash myself!
    Regards,

    Wayne

    Wayne,

I am going to have to try that one out, it looks and sounds like a great bottle. Oh yeah, I agree with the not during live auction part.

Good to hear you pulled them out to enjoy. I like to enjoy my coins the same way I like to drink my whiskey. ALONE.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

Like you, I enjoy looking at my treasures. They rarely come though, so
I visit them when I make additions to the group at the SDB.

    Sounds like a label fest.

The more qualities observed in a coin, the more desirable that coin becomes!

I envision 30 or 40 of us, all inspired by the original poster, strolling into our banks with a bottle of our favorite liquor tucked away in order to look at our coins that are kept in our safety deposit boxes.

PS: Then I envision 20 or 30 of us arrested for public drunkenness... image

"... a couple of busties waiting for me..."????

What's that, code for when your wife brings her girlfriend home?

That probably wouldn't be as relaxing, but probably just as interesting.
