My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

    << <i>

<< <i>I will be absolutely shocked if that comes back a proof. If I am not mistaken the OP has a few coins he proclaims to be proofs that clearly are not and I have little faith in the diagnosis. Not that I don't wish him luck, I just think it isn't likely. >>

Me too. Centles is not stupid. And as mentioned above, he's one of the sharper graders out there. The odds are slim that he messed up on a matte proof buff. Any dealer worth their salt will not give up on a possible matte proof Lincoln or Buffalo w/o exhausting all sources.

A normal MS66 Buff would have luster blasting all over the place. A matte proof would have none. Unless the coin is obviously cleaned, the "matte proof" potential then starts to work on you. >>

Very nice and be sure to drop centsles a note thanking him also!

A serving a crow for us doubters.

You whipped both Centsles and Great Southern Coin. That alone puts you in elite company. Well done......is how I want my crow cooked. image

    +1
  • Fantastic that all turned out well. From the images I thought they were good to go and am sure I was one of the under bidders, that is if bought in the last year.

Here is a photo of the actual slab of the coin as I had promised
( I still cannot believe it did not go "65"!)

And here is a photo of the truview pic. First time I have used the truview option and I am amazed at the high
    quality of the photo.

And here is the truview for the other proof buff I picked in a different thread, 1936 proof-64 satin, I was
really surprised this got a 64 as I was expecting a 62 or 63 because of the carbon spots.

(May 24 -- Just picked up a raw 1917 matte proof buffalo nickel, grades PR-64 )
