Difficult to watch your purchase struggle to get delivered through the eyes of USPS tracking.

It was delivered to a PO about 15 miles away. Not my PO.

All was normal until it arrived at the wrong PO.

Now it's going backwards and have no idea where to next. Back to California?
I have to believe it's addressed correctly. I've made many purchases from this outfit with no issues before.

Feel like I should have called Wyalusing and tried to get it straightened out while it was there.
Anything else I could have done?

In all likelihood, it will redirect to your branch on Monday. No worries.

I have more of a problem with the abuse by eBay sellers, who generate a tracking number and then don't put the package in possession of the USPS for several days, and even try to BS an inquiry about why the tracking number doesn't show acceptance by the USPS. image Have had this happen twice in the past 30 days.

That's a good sign, actually. Had it not been forwarded from wrong PO, then you'd have reason to worry.

ETA: It doesn't mean the package was addressed incorrectlymany packages are misrouted and then corrected when caught.

similar has happened to me at least four times in the past four months. Eventually, everything has arrived intact. One package just took five weeks...

I ship many hundreds of items per month and many packages show nothing at all other then label created even after the item is in the mail stream it is not even unusual. I ship same day most of the time and always next business day , you could not confirm that by the scans though. Tracking can be from perfect to only at delivery and everything in between.

I drop off at times at a area post office though mostly they are picked up with our carrier since we have a set pick up. It is a common dynamic in many areas for them not to scan drop offs. It is not always and not often BS that a seller says they sent an item and nothing shows up in tracking for a few days.

The packages often show a scan before the delivery scan but quite often not until there far from the origin. This is most common on first class mail pieces.

most ebay sellers are motivated to ship fast as a lot of us want to keep the top seller discounts on our respective accounts.

It is of course stated policy to have a scan form and the mail carrier or counter person should scan it to show acceptance of drop offs , that though is not a simple process with mail employees who dont even know there own policy or procedure.

My personal favorite was a package I sent to WI that went via HI. I would have liked that vacation, too...

It's a virtual certainty that it's not going back to the origin. Given the volume of packages
handled by the USPS, a small percentage will get misdelivered. It's the nature of the beast,
unfortunately. Take a few deep breaths and try not to stress yourself out about it.

I'm guessing Lehigh Valley is the local sorting hub, it went back to get resorted and should be out to your local PO again by Tuesday.

For unknown reasons it appears your carrier scanned it "forward" at 11:20am on Sat.
I'm assuming you did not move. On Monday why not try to call your local PO and try to
find out why it was scanned forwarded...

True for sure but.. I am seeing Ebay sellers say shipped with tracking/ label created, to collect their money, and then wait several days to actually mail item

I had that "forwarded" happen last week & this week

Last wed. I had a package coming to me go to near boston
I call to PO. They find it & verify the address.

Then poof. Nothing until tonight and it travelled a few miles to Boston proper.

#2 also forgot to take that left turn in PA but I assure you neither were forwarded.

I thank the PO for the orange "delayed bar" but DON'T MARK IT FORWARDED!

It made me think, initially, something was up with some mail theft scam. Then it read as if it was I who screwed it up when it should read "rec'd at wrong facility/unit". Don't dodge the blame.
