Jefferson Nickel Grades in

MICHAELDIXON

I do not have pictures, but the grades hit today, and I am happy! I paid about fifty cents each several years ago and the 1938 is pop 23 with 1 + and none graded higher.

1939 Rev 40 MS66
1940 D MS66FS
1941 D MS66FS
1946 D MS65

Were you expecting all to FS? The 1938 is a tough one in FS. I bought a raw 1938-S years back for $8 that went MS65FS first try. Thought it was a nicer coin and sent it in a 2nd time, came back MS66 but no FS and that is where it stayed. A perfect example why a collector needs great grading skills. If I were to sell this coin, I would ask close to MS66FS money.

I haven't submitted any Jefferson nickels in years, but once upon a time the graders would reward a borderline FS coin with a one point jump in numerical grade. Best example was my last submission, a group of 1982-P from an original roll, they all graded either MS64FS or MS65 (well, there was one AU58 that we will not speak of).
