Double Duty Large Cent - Date Set and 7070

One of the more recent acquisitions for my 7070 album, purchased about 6 years ago at the Central Florida show.
The 'spot' for many years was occupied by an 1819 in an old ANACS holder that I had decided not to crack out.
But a good dealer acquaintance had just bought an old type set housed in double Capital Plastics holders. A dealer during
set up got first shot and cleaned out a fair number of coins, but fortunately left this and a few other nice ones.
A 'common as dirt' Randall Hoard cent, but priced at roughly Greysheet AU money, I couldn't pass it up, and it was time to fill
the hole in my set with this raw coin. And I've also decided it is plenty good enough to meet the needs of my date and major variety large cent collection as well. Photos by Blu62vette:

<< <i>Did you buy the coin raw, or was it slabbed? >>
Bought it raw, it was in someone's old type set, displayed in a Capital Plastics holder.....and it's still raw.

I'd love to see your type coins in a virtual 7070 holder photo collage like some have done here before! I bet seeing them side by side would be awesome.

I like it.
<< <i>I have a similar 1818 with the same round die crack and I've seen a number of them that way. >>
Yes, that's why I said 'common as dirt'....LOL.
As someone else mentioned, it's the N10 die variety....and I'd surmise that a pretty substantial portion of the coins
struck from that die pair wound up in that long ago discovered keg of cents.
