<< <i>We can start with this source which is recognizing slightly over a 40% chance for those folks currently living. Includes older folks that had the benefit of lesser usage of limited pesticide, irradiated food, mobile phone and toxic plastic food packaging. More to come.

<< <i>Lifetime Risk of Developing Cancer: Approximately 40.4 percent of men and women will be diagnosed with all cancer sites at some point during their lifetime, based on 2009-2011 data. >>

    >>

I had to leave the building to do family chores etc….can't stay on a chat board all day like some.
    OK, good source…humm, 40% but not 50%.
Trying to get a feel here…..40% of people will get a cancer….much smaller % die of cancer however.
Of the 40%, as referenced above, only 20% of these are due to lifestyle choices, behaviors, occupational risks etc.
So, 8% of people will get a cancer for which they in some way(broadly) are responsible by their choices in life.
Still too high and we should outlaw tobacco, bad chemicals etc.
80% of those with cancer get it by "bad luck" of random mutations, the number of which increase with increasing age.
It certainly is true that increased longevity is resulting in more deaths from cancer as more are surviving heart attacks, strokes, infectious diseases and benefiting from safer vehicles, machinery etc also.
An increasing cancer risk can be due to strides in medicine resulting in a longer life!
Yet some refuse to believe this.
I guess what I am feeling is that perhaps we should not feel contempt for those less fortunate than ourselves and claim that Joe6pack always has to pick up the tab for those without healthcare.
I think we all have a moral obligation to help our fellow man…even that small % that "deserve it" by their actions.
I am happy I continue to enjoy life and not spend all my time blaming others for my or my family or friends misfortunes in life, especially about cancer for which we have little control no matter what we do.
Enough ranting about this stuff…what this has to do with precious metals….very little if anything at all!

So that was the canned answer that I was going to get whether the number was 40, 50 or 60%. Glad that I wisely detected the ruse and saved some time on further research.

Do me a favor though, read the label on the next loaf of white bread or hot dogs that you are enjoying. Explain to those you that care about at the next cookout how none of that crap has any influence on the exploding rate of cancer.

    Get a real life pal!
No wonder you spend all day on the internet…or in "the cabin" away from real people.
    Others are right about you.

You know that a liberal has failed when they resort to personal attacks. Sort of a Debbie Wasserman Shultz move.

Guess that my work is done here for a bit! image

Sorry to hear about your fathers illness. It is apparent that he worked and had direct contact with chemical agents for a great deal of his lifetime.

My mother got cancer at the age of 62. For most of her life she ate foods we grew in our garden and ate the beef cattle that we raised on our own land. She ate organic, yet still got cancer.

My grandmother (fathers side) died at age 58. She was overweight, but didnt eat potato chips, McDonalds, milk shakes.

My father had a heart attack at age 42. He had a 28 inch waist until he was in early 30's. He wasnt obese and didnt eat junk.

What makes you so certain, Cohodk that not a single chemical additive in the commercial food supply will not or cannot add to the risk of cancer?

Im not saying that at all and dont think I ever make blanket statements. I will vehemently contest however, based on life experiences, the notions that organic foods will help me live longer and I will mock those willing to pay more for a marketing gimmick and complain about the cost. What makes you so certain that "organic" foods will lower ones risk of getting cancer?

    BTW--30yr yield at 2.42%
