WTB G. B. 1847 Gothic Crown

Anyone got one or know who has one for sale?
Yes, I've checked eBay and that silly Heritage "Make offer to owner" that shows "active participants" who have entertained offers to no avail since spring of 2013.

Looking for one that is for sale now.

3K-10K range.

Check the www.colincooke.com website! Very good dealer and rep. and in England though. Bought many coins from him in the past.

He generally has one or two, sometimes not on the site. Try an email. Neil is the proprietor..

I'm going to try email Mon.
Is it bad form for a colonist to be cheeky and even mention ....slabs?

Maybe not bad form, but he simply won't have anything stabbed, and has no interest in doing so. I think over the 5-6 years I have been buying from him he may have had a total of 2 stabbed coins, and those only because they were slabbed by a previous owner.

If I were after a Gothic crown, I'd go for a certified example from the start, especially if you're not very familiar with British grading. Despite its high price, the 1847 Undecimo type is practically a readily available coin if you're willing to pay the price. PCGS preferably. It also shows up very often at auctions, but you can also check out Northeast and/or Atlas Numismatics.

It's a collector's only coin, so you'll either buy a gem proof or an impaired one. There's no such thing as circulation wear on Gothic crowns.

I'm giving up the quest. Not familiar enough and at my age, probably best to move elsewhere.
    Thanks all for help, though.

Sad to hear that, what about a MUCH less expensive Gothic florin?
