Can you list them as I do not like reccomending just one company anyway?
Suggestions as to favorable pricing vs absolute safety (Here I am thinking US Mint).
Thanks.

I could name more but I've had smooth transactions with these companies. Suggest that once he decides what to buy he should do some price comparisons before he buys and to be sure to include the cost of shipping in his comparison.

Safest to deal with is APMEX, in my opinion.

They are also the most expensive unless you find one of their eBay specials.

I've never bought from them. What is it that you like about them? I'll have to give them a try.

JM Bullion also has free shipping. That's why I said to include the cost of shipping when doing a price comparison. Also, they all charge more if you pay by credit card.

good prices, fast shipping with wire payment. I always call first to confirm item is on hand. Ask for David.

Right now their pricing for AGEs is very competitive with some of the other sources mentioned here. FWIW, IMO they are one of the best/better places for buying back stuff that you decide to sell i.e. spot + $25 for 1 ounce AGEs. I don't know of anyone paying more. Otherwise your choice might be a local dealer or a private sale such as the BST. Also JMBullion for one does not purchase bullion from the public.

A issue not mentioned that is important to many is anonymity. If that's a factor for you, then you'll probably want to pay cash at shows. May or may not be the best price, but you'll get to see the goods before you plunk your cash down.

Generally, one can't buy serious bullion from the mint but I wonder if you'd call and want to order 1000 AGEs if they'd refuse you.
