Modern coins - take to FUN???

I have

2011 Proof Gold Eagle
2011 25th Silver Eagle Annv Set
2014 Proof Gold Eagle

Bought for my 2 girls on their birth years.


Should I bring to FUN and have graded?? Or leave in Mint fuzzy cases?

I'm a bit torn....hate to have one of the gold proofs go 69 and one 70....."no no kid....I don't like the PF70 daughter better"

They always look better to me in the Mint packaging, so I would leave them home.

Hide them until the girls gradate college then bring them back out.

I'd leave them in their cases. You or they can always submit them for grading in the future, if it matters any more then.

During the gold coin run up in 2009 proof 1 oz gold eagles with case and COA were bringing 100% premiums to the price of gold ($2400 vs. $1200 gold). While that probably won't ever happen again, some % of that is possible next time around....assuming there is a next time. Note that proof gold eagles in slabs brought FAR less money. Proof gold eagles with mint papers and boxes qualify for IRA's....slabbed ones do not. I would never slab one of these unless you are sure it would go PCGS PF70 and net a bigger premium.
