Indian head errors?

Hey everyone,

Ive only been collecting for a few years so im still pretty new. I always had a thing for indian head cents and was wondering if anyone knew if there was anywhere on the net that has a full list of indian head errors?

Do you mean errors, or varieties? There is a difference between the two. Errors are those such as (to only name a few) double struck, broadstruck, die cap, off centered, and off metal. Varieties are those such as doubled dies and misplaced date/digit, for example. Rick Snow just released a 900-page two volume set on the varieties. It will be about as complete as you can get with current knowledge of the series.

I collect Indian cent errors and, along with my regular collection of Indian cents, I have several errors (off centers, clipped planchets, strike-thrus, clam shell, etc.) and varieties posted on my website here: Charmy's Personal Collection of Indian Cents

I don't think anyone has a complete list of all Indian Cent errors (off-center, clip, brockage, broadstrike, struck-through, etc.), since each one is unique.
There are some good ones in this PDF:

I have seen triple-struck Indian Cents.
Also, the highest prices paid for Indian Cents are for a few struck on gold (quarter eagle) planchets.

If you mean varieties of Indian Cents (repunched dates, doubled dies, misplaced dates), there is a good online list, although it does not have a photo for every variety:

One of the most dramatic is the 1873 Doubled LIBERTY:

If you are talking about varieties, then there are books on that subject.

If you are talking about unique major mint errors, then no way is there a list. Fred may have on in his head tho image
