It reminds of the way 19th century people wrote their letters. If it was a rectangular sheet of paper, they first wrote the normal way, and then they turned it 90 degrees and wrote some more. Image reading that message.
The problem was postage rates were high, and one had to find ways to get as much information in letter without using a second sheet of paper. When they were done they simply folded the sheet and sealed the end. No envelops were used because they weight something.

Just to give the anal retentive types something to gripe about. (Actually on the crap mobile device I was using , it looked like there was a magic elixer in the solo cups. But I see now they are just a really, really good way to organize your tempting treasures.)
