I'm thinking of joining PCGS and have a question about coins being shipped back from them.

Finally decided to join at the gold level before the end of the year.

I have a P.O. Box for all my mail but could, and do use my street address occasionally for some packages ordered online.

If you have a similar scenario, would you recommend shipping to the PO box or home delivery??

Does PCGS use USPS or another carrier?

All of mine are returned via USPS Priority Mail with Signature Confirmation. (Street address)

I should be more clear and say that the only deliveries to our house are by UPS, FedEx, etc...not the USPS.

By what you're saying OPA, I think I would use my PO Box for return shipping. Thanks.

I always have them sent to my PO Box without any issues. You get a notification in your box, take it to the cashier, and they get your package. PCGS uses the USPS, so PO Boxes work just fine... I would recommend the PO Box unless you are always home anyway. If you're not home you will need to pick it up at the post office anyway.

I use PO Box for 99% of my online purchases. My box is located just one block from my job, so I can stop buy and pick up any package on lunch time or after work, or even before work. For UPS or Fedex packages I usually use my home address, but it's not very convenient, because someone must wait for the package or wait for re-delivery. Thumbs up for PO Box!

PCGS, NGC and CAC all have coins delivered to a P.O. Box when submitting. They seem to agree this is the safest course.

Absolutely they can deliver to your PO Box, they use USPS shipping.

Also, for what it's worth, you can now have UPS and FedEx deliver to your PO Box as well by using "street addressing". There is no additional charge. You can either have a package sent to you via street addressing, and the first time you receive a package you will simply sign a form with the post office, or you can sign the form in advance.

    Here is the form.

PO- especially if it is convenient to get to.

Coins always make it there and back. My problem is that PCGS always grades my coins a point or two lower than I would, if I were selling them raw. image .

    C'est la vie.

If you do not mind the lines the PO box is always a better way to go.
