I went picking last sat and found this Larg cent. 1853

When i was looking at it i saw what looks like a "E" on the rim and maybe a 3 is it a over strike or what is going on with it maybe a clash? Thanks for any help in advance~ Type2.

Ricko nailed it.
PMD.
Sandwiched with another coin in a pressure device like a vice.

Wow. Bet that hurt.

It didn't leave the Mint looking like that
on the rims, surfaces, etc.....
Another coin was pressed against it....

The coin or the OP?
Edit: Added the smile
<< <i>I dont see how that can be, it would be pressed in not up you think? The stars and numbers would be smash in. But i guess it can happen.
How would having another coin pressed against this one make the raised areas of interest, that seems to be reverse of what would happen?
