Anyone else having problems with new thread pages being slow to appear?

Over the years here I've seen occurrences where new pages on a thread don't appear right away. Sometimes it takes seconds or a few minutes, sometimes up to an hour. This is not about the system being too slow to load the page. Pages elsewhere on the site would load instantly as normal. But, in the past week, I've seen the thread summary pages recognize a fresh page with a fresh poster and that page will not come up. Over this past weekend it took as long as a day (or longer) for a new page to finally appear. So far, today looks better.

<< <i>Yes. I was tipped off to change the page number in the task bar to the new page you want and it works like a charm!

That's the thing, the new page number wasn't showing up on the "task bar".....assuming I know what that means. For a couple days there threads with more than one page were acting like USPS mail.
I have used 40 posts per page since day one. I'll use 100 from here on in. Ok, I think Wondercoin was trying to get me to the edit/browser/address bar.
I wasn't commenting on how "slow" a page was to load. The issue is that the page was clearly in the system "memory." I just couldn't call it up or see it. The page right before it would come up immediately.
Get a new computer and a new operating system
Or
maybe try getting a really old computer and an ancient operating system and sign on with AOL 1.0 or older version. This will probably work better
Nothing in between. There is a glitch in The Matrix no mater what they tell you.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
<< <i>The not showing new post/page is a long standing problem. If this happens, look in the address window of your browser. See the number at the end? That's the page number of the thread. Increase that number by 1 and it forces the thread to go to the next page. Then the new posts will be view-able. >>
Thanks Kudbegud. I had never noticed that before. A page "hang firing" for >24hrs is certainly a problem. Can't say it was ever much of a problem when I used I/E for my browser. Maybe related to Firefox interface but I've had that for 18 months now.
MJ, when I did have AOL 1.0 and a Walton's Mountain "crank" phone in my house, I still was able to get a new page up quicker than this past weekend.

That's the thing, the new page number wasn't showing up on the "task bar".....assuming I know what that means. I could select "last" on the thread summary page and it would only take me to the previous to last page. Regardless of what page numbers or choices I selected, the new page would remain hidden. All seems to be working ok now though. For a couple days there threads with more than one page were acting like USPS mail.

Type the "next" Page Number into the address bar manually. It will take you to it. Or at least it does me.
