Question regarding Silver Dollar coins I found with PICTURES

Hello,
I wondered over here from the card forums and know near to nothing about coins. I recently found a handful of silver dollars from 1883-190? that belonged to my dad. The coins are in a variety of conditions, but several really stand out having a superior look. I realize that like cards grading makes everything-and so do pictures. I will hopefully have pictures up later today and then we can go from there in regards about whether or not to get a few graded. It will be easier to ask questions once the photos are up so you guys can see them, but is there anything I should be looking for in these years that might have value other than condition. Looking forward to reading the comments.

Thanks
Dave

Don't clean them. Leave them as they are. Original condition is EVERYTHING.

Post photos, and/or give us the date and mintmark (on the reverse under the eagle of the Morgans) and we'll at least be able to point which MIGHT be valuable vs. common.

Yes, #1 like mentioned, DON'T clean them! Get yourself a "Coin" magazine of some sort. Go to a Barnes and Nobles or any kind of book store. You can buy either a specific book for the type of coins your dad had or buy a book that covers all types of coins. Our (the forum) preferred choice is what is called the "Red Book". Good luck in your endeavor to find the value in your fathers treasures. Oh, also, like mentioned, photos on our forum will have you have us help you too. Have fun and stay interested. You won't regret it.-joeyimage One more thing.. I love your "Yogi Berra" card!

Those three coins look Uncirculated and as such might bring about $75 each (give or take). Of the list there are a couple tougher dates even circulated so they are worth a little more than bullion.

If you do what you always did, you get what you always got.
  • Nice little group you have there.

The one in the picture of nine "top right" looks to be the 1901-s?

If so that is one of your better dates and looks to be a decent grade also but cant really tell from that picture.

Yes the top right is the 1901-S the wear looks similar to the other ones but it has some staining or such on it. I will try to get a better picture up later.
