    It's not a US coin. It's really almost not a coin. It is the first time I've ever bought directly from the Perth Mint, and it's the first time I've ever bought a (gasp!) colorized coin. (I feel like I'm in confession...)

    However, a couple of very close friends are Disney freaks (though admittedly I'm pretty high on the scale myself), so this seemed to be a no-brainer. And it's really not a coin, it's a Christmas ornament, right?

    My wife actually expressed interest in ancient coins, so I got her a very nice one in XF/AU, Maximus, or someone like that, 235-238 AD.

    Knowing what I know about collecting now, it will be fun to build a small collection for her.

    I like shiny metal objects. She likes different shiny metal objects.

    In the past I've bought her antique maps, books, fossils, which she does enjoy. This year went with shiny things.
