Home Buy, Sell & Trade - Cards & Memorabilia

Take extra caution here

Just opened up a pack I bought here in September. Looked fishy from the start. Multiple gum stains & cards in random order. 75' Topps Reg pack it was.

    Sorry for the loss.

I would like to collect unopened but the reality is that there is too much risk.

Could you PM me who the seller was? The info will stay private with me. It's not surprising with the amount of deals done here there would
    be the occasional bad one.

    Who was the seller?

When you say it looked fishy from the start, do you mean the transaction in general or the pack itself? If you thought the pack was no good, why wouldn't you have contacted the seller prior to opening it?

  • The back of the pack was stained. Seller said he bought it from Steve Hart & even had the order number and stuff. I should have sent it back but just assumed it was ok. I'm no expert but the seal looked proper & I guess I just took it on faith it was legit. The cards were front back in the pack with two diff cards having gum stains.

I had a few beers after finishing a long shoot & decided to crack the pack as an early Christmas present. Dumb

Can you post the cards you pulled from the pack? That will indicate if it was resealed or not.

Two different cards shouldn't have gum stains but it is typical to have cards face out on back of a 1975 wax pack.

  • The two stained cards were #2 Brock Highlights & #225 Grich. I'm not entirely sure the seller sold a bad pack. Seems like a decent man. Some of the fault lies with me--I should have been more proactive in dealing with this. Oh well.

    Happy holidays everybody!

Ps. Is that Tim (NY) from EBay on here? I bought some nice stuff from you privately in the past! Thanks
