Starbucks is in the SILVER business...

joeykoinsjoeykoins Posts: 17,469 ✭✭✭✭✭
Hi guys, Just received a email from Starbucks. They're selling a Silver Starbucks Card (actual Silver) for $200! Pretty cool, I think. The price of $200 includes a value of $50 on the card. The only thing is it's not explaining the weight and size? Still, very trendy. I wonder if our host would " slab" it?image

Well, I am one of those frequent customer and I do have a Starbucks Gold card (not actual gold). I've been a customer for over 25 years! This Silver card would make a great gift for not only a coin nut as myself but for an avid Starbucks customer. What good timing on Starbucks behalf.image

For the ones that aren't familiar with a Starbucks card. The Gold card is like a debit card. You can load as much as money you want on it. At the same time, they give you great Rewards for using it. No, if your wondering if I work for Starbucks.image

I seem to recall a Starbucks card selling for several hundred dollars on ebay a couple years back. It might have even been more, and it was on the news.
And people think we waste money on frivolous things like COINS!

Yes, your right. That was the Limited Edition with $400 on the card itself. It was limited to 1000. I think it hammered on the bay at $1600 or so? Too much for my blood. I'd rather buy a one ounce of Gold instead.

For me, the Starbucks "experience" is long lines, bad music, overpriced products and burnt coffee. I only go during the holidays for the eggnog latte's. image

My friends find it odd that I have never stepped foot in a Starbucks despite living for many years in the pacific northwest.

Well, if you watch TV, it sounds like everyone in Seattle either works at Starbucks or plays in a grunge band. image

Now if they were offering a cup of coffee and a pastry for the tidy sum of one silver quarter image that'd be a deal.

You know what? A silver quarter today would just about buy what you want! A small coffee ($2.00) and a pastry (about $1.50) That's $3.50! A silver quarter would be worth close to $3.00. image
