I would like to see this as well. There is a big swings in some darkside coins like them Chinese coins. A lot of collectors will not tuch them but if they did or even looked in to them they can get hooked. It's like Cherrypicking when you find a Chinese coin that some one is asking $150 for and you can see it's a nice coin just like when you see a nice Morgan you need to buy it so you do. Then when you go to look it up and see that it's worth $1000 in MS60 and you know it's better then that so then you send it in and it comes back MS64 and worth $10k to $19k now your hooked like a fish looking at a big juciey worm and thats how it starts. I have been buying a lot of chinese the pass 8 mo and it's been very good to me. If we showed them here as well I think more will have some info to go on and look at other coins then just U.S. But you do what you do and i'll keep doing what i do thats just me dumb Type2 thinking.
PS: Here is one i picked two months ago and i'm very happy with it.

The question I have Type2 and others, is how do you know what the coin is? In other words, how can you tell a Chinese coin from a Tibetan coin .....etc? Do you just have picture books as a reference and look page by page till you find your coin?

I know this is going to sound crazy. But i look at many and i'am saying many auction cat's and you will see the coins you want to "Try" to find in them and when you find them you will know. It's just like you looking at any U.S coin after you spend a lot of time looking at it in the red book or auction cat's you just know witch one to grab, But The simbols give a lot of it away after looking at it you can see they are not all the same and the Kraus book has most of what you need so you can find what you are looking for. Giver her a try it will open your eye to a bigger world in coins. Try this go to Stacks and look up all the Chinese cat's and see if you can find this coin i posted then start looking at all the others after a bit of looking see what the prices are then go to the bay and see if you can find any that spark your mind. It's a new way of picking and i'm letting it out of the bag now and not just Chinese but the world. and PCGS is grading all of it.
<< <i>I wonder if the description for the coin at upper right says, "Fat Man." I would doubt it. >>
The "fat man" depicted on the Chinese silver dollar is General Yuan Shi Kai.

Just checked the World and Ancient Coins Forum......I've come to the conclusion....this forum should join the US Coin Forum.
Coins are coins....they come from talented 'pressers' and arteests!
I have my reasons.
