if I won something last nite, activated just now, and then paid for last nites winnings, assume it doesn't count for that purchase? Or is it based on when you pay?

There's usually a lag from the time the e-mail goes out to the time the message appears in your eBay messages. For me it's usually like an hour or so. Just to be safe, I always wait for it to appear in my eBay messages rather than clicking in the e-mail. I also received the 5x eBay Bucks offer, as well as a $5 coupon from eBay for being with them for 16 years, so let the shopping begin! : )

Yep, has to be bought and paid for the same day. I swear I always get these a day or two after a big purchase.

5x ebay bucks (translates to a 10% savings) doesn't help much when all the "buy it now" listings are 20+% overpriced to begin with

Once again I am not included in this promotion. I just called Ebay and asked why some people are included every time there is a promotion and some are never included. Just like the last time I asked, no one seems to know why or how Ebay users are picked for the promotions. I did speak to someone that actually tried to find out but he had no luck. Since Ebay conciders me a high volume buyer, he did add an additional $25 to my current Ebay Bucks. I guess the call wasn't a complete waste of time.

Ha...well I finally decided to call about never receiving any offers (yes, my account options are set to receive promotions). I was routed to their call center and spoke to a woman with poor english that couldn't comprehend my questions until I repeated them 3 times. Of course, I got the usual "the offers are for select ebay members chosen by the automated system". We'll see if anything any changes and I start receiving offers.

I kind of agree but at this point it is not about the extra Bucks. If it is indead a random process why do the same people get the offers every time and others never do? I spend quite a bit on Ebay each quarter. Before they added the $25 I had $105 Bucks for this quarter. I did get a 10% off coupon last week but wasn't able to find much to take full advantage of the discount. Other than that I have never gotten any type of pormotional offer. I have been an Ebay user for 16 1/2 years. I signed up with Paypal soon after they became live. They actually gave everyone $5 for joining and didn't charge any fees. Just once I would like to be included in the Bucks promotion so I don't feel left out.

As far as the eBay bucks promotions, I've gotten every one ever mentioned here on the boards.

I have not however gotten any of the flat ??% off offers that didn't require listing/selling something.

I'm a big eBay buyer every quarter, this one is my lowest of the year with $150+ bucks already accumulated

And I haven't gotten in offer in over 6 months

Guess I should call someone, because I used to get them all and now I don't get any

I wonder if there is a correlation between folks receiving the special offers and whether or not they sell. I don't sell on ebay and have never received one of these offers. I've gone back and made sure that my special offer notification is checked (even unchecked and checked the box a number of times).

I've never sold anything on eBay and I get them all the time.

I've sold and bought quite a bit on Ebay and have never gotten included in on these offers. According to what I've been told by Ebay the users are chosen at random. I find that hard to believe.

Do they all say "eBay VIP"? That's what mine have been labeled as.
