NEWP It's been awhile (Mercury cameo)

Dimes ain't my thing but I made an exception here. Merc's and Walkers in cameo seem like finding hen's teeth.

Well done! That's fantastic. If I recall, you have a beautifully toned 39-D Merc as well....my mind might be fuzzy.

    Very nice, congrats.

Proof Merc issues are considered fully struck and the FB designation therefore isn't used.

Is there such thing as a DCAM PR Merc. ? image

Neither service has attributed a Mercury Dime as DCAM/UCAM. To my knowledge, only a proof war Jefferson Nickel and Lincoln Wheat Cent from the 1936-1942 have ever had UCAM/DCAM examples between PCGS and NGC.

It is enough for a cameo designation. I have seen designated coins that did not look as nice as the OP's coin.

A 1939 cameo proof set would be very difficult for sure. There are only two cameo designated Walkers for this date between both services (both coins are PCGS). The PF64 CAM hasn't been seen in years and the PF65 CAM Walker is permanently locked away in my collection.

  • good looking dime. Haven't the price of these went down over the last few years?? If so it might be a good time to pick of one.
