This issue has some significance to me as I am a direct descendant of Pocahontas, featured on the obv in a flattering portrait (with loop earrings!) Each day I drive to work past the approximate birthplace of Powhatan, and then the site of the first successful tobacco crop (John Rolfe, husband of Pocahontas). On the reverse are 2 of the 3 ships that brought the English to Jamestown. They have full scale replicas of these vessels at Jamestown which you can board and I'll tell you they are way less imposing in reality. Downright cramped. This medal has terrific luster. The spot on the reverse rim near 4:00 is superficial and not corrosive.
Thanks to Broadstruck for making this available on the BST.
my 1956 that failed at getting cameo...sooo close it had to go in to try...sometimes i wished they had "CL" for cameo like designation with these borderline examples
everything in life is but merely on loan to us by our appreciation....lose your appreciation and see

Nice strike, proof-like appearance (if you didn't know it was MS, you might think it was a proof), nice color.
