  • This led me to find out that you can get Tommy Jeter signed rookie cards for $5-$7.
  • MLS, I own one real sig and can find many examples online, but is there a certain key or two in Jeter's sig that we should be looking for to verify its authenticity?

    Welcome back to the boards!

The key is that if it's in MLS' personal collection then it is genuine. And if it's not in his PC it's fake. So I'm sorry to tell you, but he tells me yours is fake. Without even seeing it. He's that good.

If you like to pm a picture of yours I will help you out. Jeter's signature has changed a lot since early 1992 but they are very consistent for that year signature. I buy or trade for about 10 Jeter signed items a week. So there is plenty of them. You just got to look constantly because there's about 5 of us who are always looking for them & trying to buy them 1st.

In all fairness, I must say MLS does know his Jeter signatures, as do I. So far, he has been pretty spot on, in my opinion.

If you're making a killing buying unauthenticated Jeter's and then flipping them why let the cat out of the bag. Kinda like Coke giving away the formula no?

    Doug,
Because I copied & pasted from my watch list. I copied one by mistake. I actually won this better card for the 3rd. I also have one selling/buying account & a additional 2 buying accounts. More then on one occasion I have bid against myself while using snipers. Not something I enjoy doing.

For fear they are going down in value and his Jeter auto collection will take a serious hit if people don't start paying strongly for Jeter again?

As long as it's not a reprint/copy, and the item is signed in ink, that is a legit Jeter autograph.

That's not good enough for me. I honestly have never seen him say a Jeter auto is authentic if it didn't belong to him. Where is the PROOF that he's never made a mistake and said one was a forgery when it was real?

As for his CLAIM that he worked for a TPG, watch this: I also worked for a TPG. See how easy that was? >>

There is an obvious sore spot between MLS and a few of you based on some of the catty replies I have seen directed his way. I don't want any part of that, Dan. I am just speaking about the autographs and my observation that he has been accurate on all of them I have reviewed.

I was also offered a job from Roy at Psa for their NJ office around 2008-09 & I would of pursued that job if I didn't just open up my own restaurant. I consult currently for two 3rd party authenticators for Jeter & Jose A Pujols items.

I guess I don't know what I'm doing? Some how I keep getting my opinion asked by the industry leaders.
