Overall not a bad pack if you take away the fact that 4 /5 cards had gum damage!!! The top card was completely destroyed, and the next three had upper left corner damage. I've never seen nicer card from this year though, '66 Philly are usually pretty rough. Although a little OC there was a star card in there too! Disappointed, but what a thrill to get to open a Philly pack.
Here are the 5 cards...
and the worst of the gum...
and lastly the tattoos that were hiding in the fold of the wrapper...
This year for my Christmas day rip I parted from my usual '58 cello pack to bust a '60 cello instead. Having busted enough '58s to learn the sequencing I had a thought that since the '60 set has the same number of cards, maybe it would follow the same sequencing pattern. After finding the results of a '60 cello rip online, I was convinced that I may be right! So when a nice '60 cello pack come up for sell on eBay a while back that may yield some star power I sprung for it and have been itchin' to open it ever since.
Well that day has come, and other than centering I was not disappointed!!!!!!!
Every card but one that I thought would be in there was there, so I'm even more convinced that the sequencing is the same as the '58 cellos.
All the cards in this pack were in spectacular shape, unfortunately the centering Gods were not on my side with this pack, the three star cards were all off center as well as most of the other as well. However, there are two very nicely centered cards that have shots at high grades. One of those in a Cleveland team card that I actually need a high grade example of, as the one I have is only a PSA 6. That team card is pretty pricey in a PSA 9!
Here are the bulk of the cards...
Here are the three stars...
and here are the two stunners!!!
Well that's all folks, hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and please have a safe New Years.
Scott ... thanks for keeping us entertained the past two weeks. Best of luck with your 60's submissions!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Scott ... although I seldom disagree with my friend from the far South ... I don't think that Kosar will "9", and in an "8" you will be lucky to get your grading fee back if sold. HOWEVER, if it's for you person collection, I will agree with Matt.

Thanks for the update. Man the Brown looks nice (despite being OC). Congrats on the sub. The Marino getting an 8 NQ is interesting. They seem to be pretty lenient with 84's and the centering needed for an 8, especially with regard to tilt. I have a few Marino RCs that I may sub next month that have similar centering. If they get 8 NQs they will be worth sending in. Did you sub the 87 Montana and Reggie White? Those looked sharp in the scans.

At this point the only '87s I normally send to PSA are Browns that I still need in a 9 or better. I have plenty of nice '87 I've opened in the last couple of years that I need to go through and put together a nice raw set with, when and if I ever get motivated to do so .

<< <i> at first glance I though this could be a subber, but it's slightly tilted and a couple corner are touched

I'd still sub the Kosar. It has great eye appeal regardless.

Nice hits in that 60 cello. Browns card looks real nice.
Merry Christmas!

First up the results of the '59 Cello (Pre-Carnage) Bonus rip
and probably the best I could have hoped for on the Jimmy!
Next up the commons...
A Nice Brown, but I already have a 9
A 10!
Another 10 and it's a Brown!!!
an OC Marino
The only 66 Philly card worth grading...
and finally the results from the '60 cello pack
the OC stars
the nice common
and the best card from the pack and a Browns card I needed an upgrade on got a disappointing 8
That one will probably go back to PSA at least once!
Scott
<< <i>Congrats on the sub, particularly the 59 ringo! Did you sub the 1960 Gifford? >>
No I held off on the Gifford, it was just too off center and it had a few other minor issues too that probably would have kept it from grading high.
