I don't have a wife and I would not suggest such a gift for a woman. Give her your credit card and leave her alone. You will see how much she loves shopping. image

What do you think would be valued the most:

    (a) custom medal
    (b) jewelry
    (c) new kitchen
    (d) blank check / credit card

No coin for my wife...while she leaves me to my hobbies, here interests lie elsewhere. A new computer (preferably one she designs herself) would be ideal...Cheers, RickO

    No such a thing here.

She would treasure a gift card from her favorite clothing store like we would a DMPL Morgan, toned BN copper or whatever coin that does it for you.

Unless the wife is a collector herself, or seriously interested in numismatics, the best I can come up with would be selling a coin for a nice profit and then using the proceeds to buy something she would enjoy - a gift for her, a family trip, something for the house, etc.

Okay seriously, I don't even know any girls interested in coins, personally. And I have 6 sisters, 2 ex wives, 2 granddaughters and over 100 nieces great nieces, 5 sisters in law.
Honestly, if any of them got coins and "liked" it I would be surprised. But maybe I should give them all something numismatic this year. Would that turn things around ? It might. (rhetorical question) I DO like that there are women in numismatics.

Once bought my ex wife two special audiophile pressings of our favorite bands on vinyl...

Best gift I ever bought as after our divorce I got to keep them since she doesn't own a turntable image

I made that mistake several years ago. I bought my wife a gold chain and had a 2 1/2 dollar Indian head gold coin in a bezel on it. I thought she would love it. I think she only wore it once in the following years. Later when we divorced she ask me if I wanted to buy it from her and I said I would. I still have it and wear it myself once in a while.

My wife has a US Eagle gold coin in 24 carat bezel necklace that I bought, also a 2000 year old Greek gold Athena coin worth $2,000+ minted by Alexander the Great, she wore them both once and they now sit in jewelry box last 20 years. Don't even try to give a coin. Huge mistake. If it did not work for Alexander, it will not work for you. LOL
